Mammoth Dog Teams It's all about the dogs. We are mushers, and dogs are our life. We have thirty-six dogs. What we do is not a job, it is a lifestyle. Our home is Mammoth Lakes, California, which is located in the mountainous Eastern Sierra at about 8000 feet in elevation. more»» Pearl City Labradors - How We Got Started and How we met Jimtown Kennels We decided we wanted to breed dogs about 5 years ago and my husband Brian had always wanted a chocolate labrador retriever. He wanted a dog he could train to hunt ducks with him and retrieve the dogs after they had been shot. We purchased our first labrador from some people in Sigourney, Iowa, without knowing a whole lot about hips, eyes, etc. We were still learning and since then have done a lot of research, reading, etc. Anyway, Sugar was a quick learner and awesome with people. The breeders we had bought her from stated that many people came back to them because they loved the temperament of their dogs. They were right. Not only was Sugar a smart dog and a quick learner, but she also was part of our family and our best friend, babysitter, alarm clock, door bell, alarm system, duck hunter, etc. You name it, she was it. more»» Jimtown Kennels - How they got started We specialize in breeding black, chocolate and yellow Labrador dogs. In 1995 a friend of mine bred his 100 lb. Lab {Bud} to a large chocolate female. He was to get the pick of the litter and said I could have it.
